Raised in Vancouver, Carolyn Ali lives to travel. She has eaten her way through 50 countries, taking cooking classes and peering into kitchens en route.
She spent three years teaching English in Japan and several more as an editor for the Bangkok Post in Thailand. In between, she travelled for a year from Southeast Asia to India to the Middle East, stopping to wash dishes for a period on a kibbutz in Israel.
When she can’t travel, she spends her time hunting down travel deals.
Carolyn dreams of the day that an Asian soup stall sets up near her office so she can once again enjoy noodle soup for breakfast.
