Every year for the past eight years, members of the Pakistani-Canadian community in conjunction with the Consulate General of Pakistan have organized a day of celebration which has now come to be known as The Pakistan Festival. The Pakistan Festival provides a unique platform for the Pakistani Canadian community of Greater Vancouver to showcase the rich history and culture of Pakistan. At the event, Vancouverites from all cultural backgrounds and ethnicities experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Pakistan. The festival provides fantastic live entertainment from local and international talent, delicious cuisines, cultural artifacts, traditional fashion shows, as well as a children's play area (carnival games, face painting, magic show etc.). What's more is that entrance to this event is absolutely free. After the tremendous success of last year’s festival, the organizing committee has once again decided to hold the event at iconic Jack Poole Plaza at the Vancouver Convention Centre on August 13 2017.
