Little Guitar Army aims for its own reality show

Screw Lake Shore, there’s talk of a reality show starring Little Guitar Army. Negotiations are in the early stages, as they say, but rest assured that the habits of GTA’s 11 dinky-instrument-wielding members would make your regular MTV-issue D-bag look like a teenager on his first Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

Tiny bassist Doug Smith told the Straight that the putative series is just one of the offers coming the band’s way thanks to its outrageously entertaining “30 Watts to Freedom” video. Directed by David Tamkin and produced by Tammy Tamkin, Emily Keller, and David Naipaul, the promo includes helicopters, SWAT teams, and a bloody finale that would make Sam Peckinpah proud. Smith told the Straight that getting gunned down on film was “awesome!”

“I got shot four times because I’m big,” said Smith, “and then [guitarist] Nick [Noodles] got it in the mouth because he talks so much.” Smith added that “30 Watts to Freedom” has also scored the band an invite to L.A. for an upcoming Germs tribute show with the Melvins, Adolescents, and Circle Jerks. Also, weirdly, look for an upcoming online review of the video from Robbie Rist, best known for playing Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch.

Related thru Big Band Leader,Cal,ex-Muscle Biatches. One of the best shows I ever did see was the M.B.'s w/ ex-Victims Family,The Hellworms, about 10 years ago.I asked Cal about that show, and he couldn't recall. The haze at F.P. on a Friday evening might have had something to do with the vague circumstances.
