If you don't have the following as you mentioned, it's called make due with what you have...
Backyard = Parks
Pet = really? There's enough cloned people in this city with one.
Stereo = Everyone has a phone and you can stream, etc online now to lot's of other devices.
Nuff said.
Mostly, that's me

I live in the city, in a quiet pet-free condo, I rarely play my stereo and let me assure you my friend, I'm quite happy
In fact, I pity the people who have to mow, weed, seed, water and generally obsess about their lawns and ga-zillion dollar mortgages, while their lazy-ass entitled kids lounge around blasting some bullshit no talent boy-band crap at about 110 decibels
So thank you very much for your 'compassion', but frankly it isn't needed.

I DON'T feel sorry for people who can live in Vancouver, but can't afford a backyard, pet or stereo.
Really? Who cares.
I dont understand why people concern themselves with stuff like this. Move on with your life.
Awwwwww

Don't feel bad for this city dweller. I sit on the sofa blasting music on my headphones cuddling the dog as we watch the landscapers and window washers do all the work. The local parks are my back yard that I don't have to mow. Now that I'm older I'm glad I sold my acreage with all high maintenance and costs for the downtown condo life.

You don't have to be rich and own a house to have a backyard... There are plenty of affordable converted rental houses that would allow you to have yard space a that you, personally, don't have to mow - and a pet in Vancouver. I live in one and personally would never move back into an overpriced box of a condo. I love waking up on sunny mornings, rolling out a blanket in my yard and lounging for the day before I invite my friends over for a barbecue.

This is the dumbest thing I've heard. Happiness is subjective buddy. Just because you own some real estate, have a dog and a stereo, doesn't mean everyone else defines being 'rich' the same way. Happy that you have stuff, but keep your pitying to yourself, we don't need it.
To end: "Some people are so poor, all they have is money."
