The rice diet

Just found rice weevils in a bag I'd bought almost a year ago. It doesn't look too bad, so I'm not throwing it out. I put the whole bag in the freezer because it's supposed to kill them. And of course I wash the rice before I cook it so they'll float to the top and down the drain. And now my diet will be rice, rice, and more rice until the bag is gone. Thank goodness I live alone and that I don't entertain.

I fully respect that. You wouldn't believe how many bugs make it into people's ground cereal anyways. The government won't stop it anytime soon because it's pretty much impossible to stop.

Rice weevils are nothing! Don't worry about it!

Where exactly do you think all of the weevil feces has gone!? All that shit, where's it all gone Einstein? It's not just the weevils themselves that's in the rice you nit! Enjoy

Way back, unemployed, I did this but never bothered to float the bugs out, just didn't look close. Yum, protein. Btw the dark brown grains are pupa, not wild rice.

Not Surprised

Many years ago, I started a part time job at a bulk foods store. By foods, I mean mostly spices and some dried fruits and nuts. When I had to go to the storage room to restock the store bins, I found disgusting things in the bins that made me so ill, I quit after just one day. If people really knew how there's a spider colony (or 5), insect cocoons of all description; they'd never buy from one of those stores again. It was seriously that bad, no exaggeration.
