Truth 1) people are afraid of rejection so they don't always approach someone they'd like to make a connection with. Truth 2) people are afraid of creeps and a-holes so they may appear unapproachable to protect themselves from said creeps and a-holes. Let's all agree to be a little braver: drop that friendly compliment, ask that gorgeous creature out for coffee, do it so you won't be kicking yourself later. Let's also agree to be nicer: lower that wall a bit and if you're not interested say so graciously, no need to hurt anyone's feelings. And most importantly: remember no means no! You can't win every time. Don't be the creep that's ruining it for everyone else. Let all of us single Vancouverites make these promises to each other and see where things go.
