My Boss is a Jerk

Poor communication. Nothing is ever good enough. Small things blown way out of proportion. An unhealthy working relationship that doesn't seem to improve no matter how many "meetings" we have. If I stay, I have the *possibility* of advancing on to something different(better), nothing guaranteed and the path is not clear though. If I go (work with someone else), I still get paid the same (still employed at the company) but will have much less work to do. Also I'm good at the job (if i go back to it) and know my role and responsibilities. I'm not sure if I should stay or go. Kind of want to go. I only know that I used to be happy at work. Now, I dread it. Don't know how long I should ride it out before giving up. Or if the potential rewards are even worth it. It's very unclear.

These types of managers actually harm businesses....good people leave and those left behind are too stressed out and unhappy to perform.

Leave, but...

I'd say leave your job, but before you do, start looking for a job first, then once you've secured a job, give your two weeks notice, that way you have somewhere to go and not stranded

Try being self employed. Then you'll find out what a jerk your boss really is.

You're not alone. Everyone enjoys their job when they first start, and everyone hates their job once they realize how much time they have thrown away doing, and no one else cares.

If your boss is that bad; forget about any positive resolution or your life improving- "birds of a feather flock together" Heard that one? If your boss is an asshole; the people who hired him are assholes too- save yourself- leave.

Run as fast as you can! You spend a third of your life at work and life is too short for that
