The downtown restaurant located inside the Moda Hotel has just launched their World Class Happy Hour, which features new cocktails created by award-winning bartender Lauren Mote.

Mote is the bar manager of UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar (900 Seymour Street), and the first woman to win the Diageo World Class bartending competition.

She went on to compete in the World Class Global Finals in Cape Town, placing in the top 12.

Mote is now bringing her competition-winning cocktails to UVA’s new happy hour menu, with creations like the Middle Earth—an old-fashioned style cocktail that combines rye, white vermouth, amaro, Balsam fir, and orange and juniper bitters.

Another featured cocktail is the Choclair, which blends fresh espresso, bourbon, Grand Marnier, cacao, red berries, gentian, and chocolate bitters.

Guests can also pair their drinks with some happy hour bites, including bruschetta, steamed mussels, and fresh pacific oysters for $1/each.

UVA’s World Class Happy Hour runs through June 2016, Monday to Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
