Lee’s Donuts is opening in Steveston Village

Beloved sweet treat shop Lee’s Donuts is continuing its sugary, doughy expansion with a new location in Richmond.

The window coverings at the future outpost, which can be found on Bayview between Easthope and Ewen in Steveston Village, say it will open sometime this summer.

Lee’s first opened at the Granville Island Public Market in 1979 by husband-and-wife team Alan and Betty-Ann Lee. Their little shop quickly became known for its classic, pillowy donuts—especially its heavenly Honey Dip flavour—that use good, simple ingredients. Nothing fancy, done right: that’s the Lee’s way.

Alan died in 2014, leaving Betty-Ann to run operations herself; she sold the business to Celine and Allan Bacani in 2018.

The new owners have ramped up expansion efforts, with Lee’s now having additional locations in Gastown, Bentall Centre downtown, and Willowbrook Mall in Langley, plus a commissary in Marpole.
