Wanna see Chains of Love for five bucks?

The Electric Owl has come up with a cunning way to get your ass into the nearest vinyl outlet before International Record Store Day (April 20.)

You can see Hallow Moon and Orange County's Cosmonauts for a mere five bucks at the Main Street venue on Sunday (April 7—with support from Outside Dog), but you’ll need to visit either Zulu, Redcat, Neptoon, or Dandelion Records to score one of the 150 cut-rate tickets the venue has issued for the show.

The offer continues with Bob Sumner, Viper Central, and Sheree Plett on April 11; the Dirt, This Is the Shoes, and Seattle’s the Grizzled Mighty on April 13; Colin Cowan and the Elastic Stars, Fox and the Law (from Seattle), and Ruskin on April 17; and finally, Chains of Love with the Stolen Organ Family Band and Beach Day (from Florida) on April 18.

And since you'll be in one of the above stores taking advantage of the Owl's generosity, maybe you should pick up a wax copy of the Chains' Strange Grey Days while you're at it.

No, I would not like to see Chains of Love for $5. I would not like to see them for any price.

I'd like to see some actual local music reporting in your paper, though. That would be nice.

Oh you would? Perhaps the weekly Local Motion feature would be to your tastes then? Or the locally focused Music Notes column? Perhaps the page or more of local album reviews the Straight publishes once a month?
