Vancouver's Depressing calls it quits

Life just got worse for the local hardcore scene with news that Vancouver three-piece Depressing has called it quits. The band plays its final show this Friday (November 29) at the Astoria.

According to guitarist-vocalist Andrew Drury, it was a stretch of inactivity that forced its members to question the staying power of the band. “We didn’t jam for four months and just didn’t talk about our future or anything,” Drury told the Straight, adding that members were concurrently tied up in outfits like Baptists and Burning Ghats. “It seems like each one of us has a band that’s more important than Depressing. We’d like to put more effort into those.”

Things aren’t all bad, though. As a parting gift, the $10 cover charge at the Astoria will yield fans an LP copy of the group’s 2013 sophomore album, Life Just Gets Worse.

What a way to learn about a band! Hadn't heard these guys, am now that I read this, I'm spinning Life Just Gets Worse on their bandcamp page - and I like it! Nuts!
