Kung Fu star David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

American actor David Carradine was reported to be found dead, his naked body hanging from a rope in a Bangkok luxury hotel on Thursday morning.

The 72-year-old Carradine, who rose to fame in the role of a Shaolin monk on the martial arts TV series Kung Fu and made a comeback  in the role of  Bill in Quentin Tarantino's two-part Kill Bill, was in Thailand filming the movie Stretch.

The actor, who had been nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards, had an extensive career with roles in films like Martin Scorsese's Box Car Bertha and Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye, and also appeared in TV series such as Gun Smoke and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. More recently, he appeared in films such as Crank: High Voltage.

He is survived by his fifth wife Annie Bierman and four children.

Tragic news. One article I read observed that Mr. Carradine's body, as well as his neck, had rope around it. Could this be an accident that occurred during autoerotic asphyxia? Some feel that's how Michael Hutchence died. Either way, it's awful and depressing.

The BBC article originally said cord was wrapped around 'neck and genitals' but it was later changed to 'neck and other parts parts of the body'.

How very sad.

Either way, my heart goes out to his family and friends.
