Where have all the young feminists gone? Long time passing ...

In this post-Madonna era of rampant T&A, will feminism ever become a dominant cultural force as it has in the past? Nonetheless, for those who are concerned about gender equality on a global scale, the Amnesty International (AI) Pacific Office is co-sponsoring the free Engendering Equality Symposium.

Coinciding with International Development Week (a national week to raise awareness of international poverty reduction), the symposium will be held at SFU Harbour Centre (515 W. Hastings) on Saturday Feb. 10th. It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AI Canada has dealt with such subjects as the Japanese government's failure to take responsibility for the crimes committed by using "comfort women" and the need for the Canadian government to take preventative action regarding violence against aboriginal women.
