“Beyond the Meadow” makes a return to the Vancouver stage after 25 years

From the mind of composer and producer Ashley Lambert-Maberly, Beyond the Meadow revisits the stage a quarter-century after its premiere in 1999 to once again tell a story from the villain’s point of view.

Beyond the Meadow is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty, but with more emphasis on the wicked fairy and the multiple good fairies foiling her evil plans. It returns to the stage at Performance Works on Granville Island from May 15 to 18 thanks to The Broadway Chorus.

The revival promises to be grander than ever, with double the cast size, fine-tuned harmonies, fresh choreography, and an even more wicked fairy (played by Lambert-Maberly).
