Canada Pride Festival announces star-studded 2024 lineup

      The Vancouver Pride Society has just announced its summer lineup for its 2024 Canada Pride Festival, taking place from July 26 to August 4. And it’s shaping up to be the biggest and most star-studded celebration of queer joy and resilience to date. 

      With over 40 events planned throughout the city, including the main attractions of VanPrideFest and the Pride Parade, attendees of all ages can stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ2S+ community.

      Some of the key free-to-attend events are:

      Opening Ceremony


      Led by local Indigenous drag queen Jaylene Tyme, the opening ceremony welcomes host Nations and sets the stage for the week-long celebration.

      VanPrideFest


      Two days of music at the TD Main Stage with drag performances, DJ sets, a local vendors market, and food trucks on site. Vancouver’s own Venus (winner of Canada’s Drag Race season four) is set to perform, alongside her Vancouver peers Kendall Gender, Synthia Kiss, and the Girlfriend Experience. Other Drag Race alumni who will also perform include former winners Giséle Lullaby and Icesis Couture, as well as fan favourites Aurora Matrix and Melinda Verga. Canadian artists Rêve, Witch Prophet, and LU KALA will also be showcased on the main stage, with more to be announced soon.

      Vancouver Pride Parade


      A Pride staple, the parade takes over the streets of Vancouver with eye-catching floats, fun live performances, excellent costumes, and more. 

      When: August 4 

      Where: Pacific Boulevard to Beach Avenue

      Closing Ceremony


      A farewell to this season’s Pride festivities with musical performances, DJ sets, and drag shows.
