You Nearly Missed: Ourofest shines a light on street dance

This weekend sees the debut of Ourofest: a street dance festival presented by Ouro Collective.

On the first day, there will be one-on-one and two-on-two dance battles at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, with judges and DJs on-site to amp up the competitive spirit. The following day, a lineup of local and national artists including Vancouver’s Diamonds in the Rough and Montreal’s Marie-Reine Kabasha will take to the stage at Robson Square for free performances. There will also be two nights of workshops from Ouro Collective, ranging from hip-hop to musicality getting you ready to move and groove.

This year also marks Ouro Collective’s decade milestone in promoting and amplifying street dancers and culture.
