In October, Madame Tussauds London announced that actor Katrina Kaif—known simply as Katrina to her fans—was chosen in a public vote to join the museum's pantheon of Bollywood film stars.

"I am extremely excited that Madame Tussauds London will be creating my wax figure and the fact that fans were involved in the decision makes it even more special," Katrina said in a statement on the museum's website. "It's an amazing honour to be asked and to be featured alongside icons of the Indian film industry is humbling."

The statue is reportedly now ready to be unveiled.

Madame Tussauds London's Bollywood section is phenomenally popular, featuring likenesses of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Aishwarya Rai.

Katrina, the biggest female star on Bollywood today, is Anglo-Indian with a British mother. Katrina worked closely with the sculptors and artists who created the statue, which cost $280,000, according to the museum.

Her last three movies—Bang Bang (costarring Roshan), Dhoom 3 (costarring Amaar Khan), and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (costarring Shah Rukh Khan)—were all monstrously huge hits.

The 30-year-old film star is reportedly dating Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and there are rumours of a wedding, possibly later this year.

Katrina has six sisters. One of them, Isabelle, is also an actor and was in Vancouver in September to promote Dr. Cabbie, which starred Vinay Virmani.
