Vancouver International Airport offers yoga space for travellers

Travellers waiting at the Vancouver International Airport now have a new way to kill time: by doing sun salutations. Or everyone's favourite: savasana.

The airport is teaming up with YYoga to offer a space for passengers to practice self-guided yoga, stretching or meditation before boarding.

YYoga@YVR, part of YVR Take-Off Fridays' summer event series, will be available as a test run program at the domestic terminal (C-Pier, across from Gate 46) every Friday from July 15 to August 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Yyoga instructor will also be available to answer questions or provide guidance on poses that are suitable for preparing for travel. Mats will be provided by Yyoga.

It's a smart move, since yoga poses can help to loosen up muscles that will be affected by having to stay in a sitting posture for the duration of a flight for several hours.
