      On May 13 and 14, birds sing a pretty song. takes the stage at the Norman Rothstein Theatre (950 West 41st).

      Presented as part of the Chutzpah Festival's Chutzpah!PLUS series, the Canadian premiere features artists from Canada, the U.S., Argentina, and Israel.

      birds sing a pretty song. revolves around two dancers who wander through a world manipulated by three live musicians and projected light structures.

      Tied in with sound and video-reactive visuals, the piece explores how surveillance and confinement through our digital and physical surroundings affect one’s sense of reality and self. 

      The performance is choreographed by Rebecca Margolick and cocreated and directed with Maxx Berkowitz.
