Vancouver, Vancouver, Vancouver, why you gotta cost so much?

According to a recent ECA International cost-of-living study, Vancouver is now the most expensive North American city in which to live, narrowly beating out Manhattan and Ottawa.

The study also ranked Vancouver as the 35th most expensive city in the world, up from its 43rd-place ranking last year.

Toronto and Montreal also made the list of the top 50 priciest places to put down roots, ranked 40th and 43rd respectively.
