      Mixed-martial-arts gaming is going handheld.

On September 7, UFC Undisputed 2010 is set to be released for the PlayStation Portable.

In a press release issued on Thursday (August 5), video-game company THQ and Zuffa, which owns the Ultimate Fighting Championship, said the PSP game would deliver “intelligent and intuitive combat, fighter customization, robust career progression, challenging gameplay modes and explosive ad-hoc wireless play”.

The game will feature several modes—Ad-Hoc, Career, Title, Title Defense, Tournament, and Ultimate Fights—and a roster of over 100 UFC fighters.

UFC Undisputed 2010 was previously released in May for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The debut of the PSP version is scheduled to take place one month before the premiere of a rival MMA game.

On October 19, Electronic Arts plans to release EA Sports MMA for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
