Gastown Business Improvement Association is excited to announce the return of one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year. Taking place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday (May 10), the 2018 Gastown Shop Hop will see over 40 stores participating in an evening of fun, socializing, and, of course, shopping.

Gastown, Vancouver’s thriving fashion district, has long been a favourite among tourists and locals alike for its one-of-a-kind boutiques and some of the best culinary fare in the city. In fact, for the eighth consecutive year, Gastown took first place in Best Neighbourhood for Restaurants category in the Straight’s recent Golden Plates 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards.

And as Leanore Sali, the Gastown Business Improvement Association’s executive director, suggests, it’s a perfect opportunity to make a night of it.

 “[Shop Hop] is a social evening. Come out with your friends, grab a drink, and go for dinner after you’ve shopped,” she says.

For one night only, visitors can take advantage of the extended hours to enjoy the community atmosphere, walk the cobbled streets and sidewalks, and peruse some of the latest spring/summer collections.

Gastown boasts some of the most unique stores in the city, so it’s a wonderful place to score cool pieces and exclusive labels—while also supporting local independent businesses. You may also get the chance to benefit from some of the in store specials. Sali also points out the fabulous selection of men’s stores in the area. From eyewear, to accessories, to shoes, and everything in between, as well as home décor boutiques—Gastown Shop Hop offers something for everyone.
