Immerse yourself in exquisite music from 17th Century Italy as Canada’s celebrated Elektra Women’s Choir and guest conductor Alexander Weimann perform virtuosic music by seven women composers of the baroque era. Focusing on the vast legacy of Isabella Leonarda (1620-1704), this is a program of music first heard in Ursuline convents across Italy. Discover with Elektra composers Caterina Assandra, Raphaella Aleotti, Bianca Maria Meda, Maria Xaviera Peruchona, Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, and Suplitia Cesis.
