Pearl Jam fans, mark your calendars! The legendary grunge-alt rockers are set to take the stage at Rogers Arena not once, but twice, this May in support of their upcoming album, Dark Matter.

The Seattle-based outfit will celebrate more than 30 years as a group (with some band member variations), currently consisting of Jeff Ament on bass, guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, Matt Cameron on drums, and of course, lead singer Eddie Vedder.

The Vancouver double header—happening May 4 and 6—kicks off an epic 35-stop world tour, including North America, Europe, and the UK. Other venues on the tour include stops at iconic venues like Wrigley Field and Madison Square Garden. Openers Deep Sea Diver will join for many of the North American dates, including Vancouver.

The tour coincides with the upcoming release of Dark Matter, the band’s twelfth studio album, set to come out on April 19. The record—their first in four years, following the release of 2020’s Gigaton—is produced by multi-Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt.

“No hyperbole, I think this is our best work,” Vedder said at a recent Grammy listening party. “I’m getting chills, because I have good memories. We’re still looking for ways to communicate. We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work.”

Ament, a founding member of the three-decades-strong band, agreed.

“We felt like we were about to make a really important record,” he said. “I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with.”

To find out for yourself, you’ll want to pick up a special release of the much-anticipated album one day after its release on Record Store Day (April 20), as the band is putting out a special edition at participating indie shops.
