After a short hiatus, Vancouver Design Week (May 12 to 14) is back with a refreshed program and plenty of opportunities for Vancouverites to explore the local creative scene. As the city's official interdisciplinary design festival, the event offers a myriad of ways for citizens to engage with the work of graphic designers, architects, fashion designers, and everyone in between.
This year's abridged program, branded Vancouver Design Week(end), features the work of over 45 designers, plus food-and-beverage tastings, speaker events, and a free launch party in one of Vancouver's brightest alleyways. In this guide, the Georgia Straight highlights notable participating designers, must-see studios, and what to expect when VDW returns for a full, 10-day program in 2018.
