      There are several celebrities who come from Vancouver, the Greater Vancouver Area, or other parts of BC. Some you likely knew about—but others might be a surprise.

      Ryan Reynolds

      Born and raised in Vancouver, actor and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds is very proud to call this place home (it is even in his Instagram handle). He is known for his roles in movies including Deadpool and Free Guy

      Seth Rogen

      You may still catch Vancouver-born Seth Rogen at Vancouver Canucks games or belting out that signature laugh at a legion. The comedian, well known for his roles in Pineapple Express, Knocked Up, and Superbad, spent years attending a youth summer camp on Gabriola Island.

      Bryan Adams

      Michael Bublé

      From Burnaby and still living in Metro Vancouver, Michael Bublé is an internationally-loved crooner. He has won numerous awards, including Grammys and JUNOs.

      Mackenzie Davis

      From Blade Runner 2049 and Black Mirror to Station Eleven and Halt and Catch Fire, West Van actress Mackenzie Davis is one to watch.

      Finn Wolfhard

      Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard grew up in Vancouver and stil lives here, even playing gigs around town with his various musical endeavours.

      Jacob Tremblay

      Known for his impeccably acted role in Room opposite Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay is a rising star in Hollywood who calls Vancouver home.

      Michael J. Fox

      This actor is a former Burnaby resident, and even attended Burnaby South Secondary. Originally famous for being Marty McFly from the Back to the Future films, he was also on The Good Wife

      Manny Jacinto

      Richmond-raised Manny Jacinto is known for his role as the hilarious Jason Mendoza on The Good Place. He has also been in Top Gun: Maverick and Nine Perfect Strangers.

      Sarah Chalke

      Although she wasn’t born here, actor Sarah Chalke moved to and lived in North Vancouver. She’s best known for being in Scrubs, Roseanne, How I Met Your Mother, and Firefly Lane.

      Cobie Smulders

      Though originally from Alberta, Tommy Chong of comedy duo Cheech & Chong lived in Vancouver, even owning a bougie home in West Van.

      Emily Bett Rickards

      Born and raised in the Vancouver area, Emily Bett Rickards went to the Vancouver Film School for acting. She’s been in Supergirl, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

      Nathan Fielder

      The comedian known for Nathan For You was born and raised right here in Vancouver. The actor and writer has been generating buzz as of late for The Curse: a show he created with Benny Safdie, starring himself, Safdie, and Emma Stone. It’s a trip—you’ve been warned.

      Alexander Ludwig

      Another Vancouverite, Alexander Ludwig has been in movies such as Air Bud, The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, and more famously, The Hunger Games.

      Diana Krall
