Fall at the Farm returns with five acres of pumpkins

Fall at the Farm returns to Maan Farms in Abbotsford from September 12 to November 1, with its forest pumpkin patch expanding to five acres this year. The patch will include tens of thousands of pumpkins, a giant pumpkin house, a mushroom house, a 12-foot teapot, and new butterfly and bee houses.

“Some of the best parts of fall are seeing how our guests make the farm their own. Families come back to recreate the same photo, couples make it an annual tradition, and kids can’t wait to discover something new. We wanted to build on that connection by making the forest bigger, more immersive and giving guests new doorways to enter,” shares Amir Maan, farmer and third-generation family member, in a release.

There are also two corn mazes this year: one shaped into the cursive words “Maan Farms” and another designed for people who actually want to get lost.

Elsewhere on the farm, a new three-lane zipline lets visitors race each other, while a corn play pit offers the agricultural equivalent of a ball pit. Returning attractions include a climbing wall, paintball gallery, pedal trikes, jumping pillows, play fort, tire mountains, and a petting area with Highland cows, alpacas, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, and peacocks. Pony rides are also available.

On weekends, there is live country music at the wine garden. The food gets equally autumnal. New additions at Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen include pumpkin pie cheesecake samosas and apple crumble ice cream jars, along with butter chicken mac and cheese and pulled pork mac and cheese. Apple pie samosas, apple pie nachos, curry bowls, and pumpkin spice soft serve are also returning

The farm’s winery is also getting involved, with canned sparkling versions of its MAD Pumpkin and MAD Apple spiced wines. MAD Pumpkin recently won silver at the National Wine Awards of Canada, while MAD Apple picked up bronze. A salted caramel cold foam apple cocktail has also joined the seasonal menu.

From October 2 to 31, the Forest Pumpkin Patch gets a Halloween makeover on select nights as part of the frightfully fun forest, with fog, lighting, and theatrical elements added after dark.

Other events throughout the season include goat yoga, pumpkin bingo, and Gilmore Girls trivia. Dogs are also welcome on select dates.
