Where to find all of Vancouver’s outdoor public swimming pools

      As temperatures continue to rise and our window for making friends with someone with a pool closes, we look to the city of Vancouver to satisfy our swimming aspirations. Luckily, the city has five outdoor seasonal pools. Here they are, broken down by neighbourhood.

      Kitsilano: Kitsilano Pool (set to open in June)

      • A heated outdoor saltwater pool with a separate area for lap swimming
      • Water park and slides
      • Wheelchair accessible, aquatic wheelchairs, aquatic pool life, and water wheelchairs

      West End: Second Beach Pool 

      • A heated outdoor pool with gradual depths and a separate area for lap swimming
      • Wheelchair accessible, aquatic wheelchairs, and water wheelchairs available with ramp access

      Kerrisdale: Maple Grove Pool (set to open June 15)

      • A heated outdoor wading pool
      • Mini island and water basketball hoop
      • Wheelchair accessible

      Riley Park: Hillcrest Aquatic Centre

      • An indoor and outdoor pool
      • The indoor pool features water toys, sprays, and a lazy river; the outdoor pool offers sprays and bubble jets
      • Diving boards 
      • Access to a fitness centre, sauna, steam room, and hot tub
      • Wheelchair accessible, aquatic pool lift, aquatic wheelchairs, and ramp access

      Hastings Sunrise: New Brighton Pool

      • A heated outdoor pool with a separate area for lap swimming
      • Waterslide
      • Wheelchair accessible, water wheelchairs, aquatic wheelchairs, and ramp access
