A Tribe Called Red to headline Vancouver Mural Fest Park Show
Critically adored Canadian collective A Tribe Called Red has been announced as the headliner for Vancouver Mural Fest's The Park Show on August 11th.
The Ottawa-based group will play Jonathan Rogers Park with support act Charlotte Day Wilson. Tickets are $30 plus service charges, with families of four getting a $100 plus service charges package deal.
All ages are welcome, with children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult with a purchased ticket.
A Tribe Called Red became famous for its Electric Pow Wow nights on the second Saturday of every month at Ottawa's Club Babylon. The group achieved nation-wide recognition in 2014 by taking home the breakthrough group of the year award at the Junos. Since then it's gone on to play high-profile festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, AfroPunk, Osheaga, and New Orleans Jazz Fest, and Pemberton Music Festival.
Records like 2016'sWe Are the Halluci Nation mash First Nations music with hip-hop, edm, reggae, and dubstep for what's been called powwow-step.
Tickets for the rain or shine show go on sale Friday (July 6) at 10 am.
The Vancouver Mural Fest takes place across the city August 6 to 11. For full information, go here.
