Shadbolt Centre for the Arts announces Fall 2021 season

      The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts has announced its 2021 Fall season, which opens with a performance by Lache Cercel and the Roma Jazz Ensemble on September 23.

      As well as music from an array of artists, including a wide range of women's voices, the program will include theatre, cabaret, storytelling, circus, and a soulful Christmas show.

      All shows will be available both in-person and livestreamed, unless otherwise noted.

      Full schedule: 

           * Lache Cercel and the Roma Jazz Ensemble (violinist Lache Cercel performs with a group that includes vocalist Laura Crema, guitarist Don Ogilvie, violinist Kit Eakle, and Montreal’s accordion legend Sergiu Popa) September 23 

           * Celeigh Cardinal (Juno-winning singer-songwriter from Alberta) September 30

           * Made In Canada: an agricultural song cycle (theatre performance by rice and beans theatre amplifies the narratives of the people who harvested our food and nourished us throughout the pandemic.) October 1-2

      Singer-songwriter Stephen Fearing blends roots, Americana, folk, and pop at the Shadbolt Centre on October 7.

           * Josephine (one-woman biographical musical combines cabaret, theatre, and dance to tell the story of the iconic Josephine Baker) October 22-23

           * Scaredy Cat Cabaret (eight Vancouver-based live performers come together to share their stories of what freaks them out the most ) October 28

           * Desirée Dawson (Vancouver-based songwriter and producer) November 4

           * Forev Circus (circus performers Santé D’Amours Fortunato and Alexandr YudintsevNovember 6-7 

           * Mariel Buckley (country singer-songwriter) November 18

           * Krystle Dos Santos (soul, jazz and R&B singer) November 25

           * Dawn Pemberton and Jodi Proznick (vocalist Pemberton and bassist/bandleader Proznick perform holiday classics along with tenor saxophonist Cory Weeds, trumpeter Chris Davis, pianist Tilden Webb, and drummer Jesse Cahill) December 3
