Burrard Bridge southbound lanes closed as part of road closures for Scotiabank half-marathon

      Another Sunday morning road race will have some motorists taking alternate routes around Vancouver.

      The Scotiabank half-marathon and five-kilometre races are expected to attract more than 6,500 participants.

      It's occurring in the midst of the year's most intense heatwave.

      Roads will be closed in the following locations at the following times:

      • Beach Avenue and Denman Street into Stanley Park from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
      • Parts of Stanley Park Drive from 5:00 a.m. to noon
      • Marine Drive on UBC's Point Grey campus from 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.
      • Marine Drive alongside Spanish Banks from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
      • Point Grey Road, Cornwwall Avenue, and Kits Point from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
      • The Burrard Bridge will have no southbound traffic and only one lane open northbound from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
