The public is being warned about traffic tie-ups around the 1200 block of West Georgia Street today.

That's because a building employee at 1288 West Georgia Street reported the discovery of a possible drug lab this morning in one of the apartments.

"Out of an abundance of caution, our officers put on protective equipment prior to entering the unit," the Vancouver Police Department said in a news release.

According to the VPD, one man "associated to the suite" is being held for questioning.

Police and fire officials are still investigating as of this writing.

"Based on the information collected so far, there is no reason to believe there is a risk to the public," the VPD says. "There have not been any reported injuries related to this investigation."

It comes shortly after media reports that some apartment managers were using sniffer dogs in public areas to detect drug operations.

There's no evidence that sniffer dogs helped staff at this particular building.
