The B.C. General Employees' Union (BCGEU) has announced that it will "stand down" job action while bargaining talks with the B.C. Public Service Agency (PSA) continue.

This means an immediate end to an overtime ban and preparations "underway" to dismantle picket lines at B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch wholesale and distribution outlets.

In a news release today (August 30), the union said that since returning to the bargaining table on August 25, the sides have made "significant progress" and it's actions today are "a sign of good faith".

"The two sides will continue to meet throughout the week, hoping to finalize a tentative agreement," the bulletin noted.

The BCGEU also said that a media and member-communications blackout will continue while talks carry on.
