A man charged with assaulting a security guard failed to appear in court on Thursday (September 8).

Kevin Aaron Hibbard, 44, is now the subject of a provincewide arrest warrant, according to Vancouver police.

Hibbard was arrested on August 12 following an attack on 64-year-old Harold Johnson, who had been patrolling Chinatown on behalf of local merchants for two decades.

CTV News has previously reported that Johnson had just taken a photo near East Pender and Columbia streets before he was punched and kicked twice in the face.
