A woman has been charged with assault after allegedly kicking and punching people near Main Street and National Avenue on Saturday (February 5) afternoon.

The accused, 38-year-old Samantha Towedo, was also charged with assault after a 23-year-old woman was allegedly punched in the face on February 1 near the Marine Gateway complex in South Vancouver.

Police say that in the earlier incident, the 23-year-old woman refused a request to give her assailant a cigarette.

In the most recent attacks, a 26-year-old man told police that he was one of those assaulted by a woman, whereas two others did not want to participate in the court process.

None of the allegations against Towedo has been proven in court.
