Surrey RCMP seek to identify male suspect in assault on taxi driver

      Investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who was involved in an assault on a taxi driver that took place in north Surrey.

      Around 3:30 p.m. on August 8, Surrey RCMP received a report of an assault on a taxi driver in the 13200 block of 105A Avenue.

      When the driver drove to the location after receiving a request for a taxi, he was assaulted by two males.

      When two witnesses saw the assault and yelled at the suspects, the suspects fled on foot.

      The witnesses stayed with the assault victim until police arrived and are cooperating with investigators.

      The first suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s with a slim build and black buzz cut hair, and was wearing a blue t-shirt.

      The second suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a slim build.

      RCMP released the composite sketch above of the first suspect.
