Skater-style brand Vans has been making sneakers since 1966, and the California-based apparel and footwear company regularly launches new collaborations and collections.

Its latest release is the Vans’ Autism Awareness Collection, which are sensory-inclusive and designed specifically for those with autism spectrum disorder.

Vans worked with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards to create the new footwear that focuses on touch, sight, and sound.

The collection integrates elements like a calming colour palette, fuzzy and rubber textures, and ComfyCush technology for all-day comfort and ease of wear for adults, kids, and toddlers.

Some of the new products include a Checkerboard with red velvet hearts and a special message on the backs of each heel; a Slip-On PT with squishy check upper and heel-pull; and an all-new New Skool V made with a rubber-toe cap, vamp overlay, a single strap hook-and-loop, pull-tab, and foam-padded collar.

An assortment of short and long-sleeve tees with cool graphics for kids can be paired with these cool kicks.

Vans will be donating a portion of proceeds from this autism-awareness collection (minimum $100,000 USD) to A.skate Foundation, an organization that supports children with autism to be a part of the social world through skateboarding.
