The Five Vengeances runs at Burnaby's Shadbolt Centre for the Arts from September 27 to October 1
The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, in association with fight- and movement-based performance company Affair of Honor, is presenting the world premiere of The Five Vengeances, opening tomorrow (Tuesday, September 27) and running until Saturday (October 1).
A comic kung-fu thriller, written and directed by Jovanni Sy, The Five Vengeances tells the story of a master swordswoman seeking to avenge the death of her bride-to-be.
Described as "a raucous love letter to 1970’s kung-fu cinema," the production was inspired by the classic Jacobean drama The Revengers Tragedy, and features the work of multimedia design collective Chimerik 似不像.
Content advisory: This play includes scenes of violence, references to sexual violence, and coarse language. Effects: haze, loud noises and flashing lights. Recommended for ages 14+.
Tickets for The Five Vengeances start at $15, and you can find them here.
