Colony on Main promises tasty food, trivia night, and the best sports programming on the block (video)

On the heels of opening Colony Bar in Kitsilano just two years ago, Blueprint is back with another addition to their growing list of bars and nightclubs in the city.  (Think the Charles Bar in Gastown, Dover Arms in the West End, and Venue on Granville).

The new Colony on Main (2904 Main Street) opened just one week ago. Modeled after the original bar in Kits, Director of Marketing Nate Sabine says the new location aims to bring a similar vibe to the block by filling a gap in the market that will cater to sports fans and hipsters alike.

"We provided something there that was missing... a good place to watch sports, have some comfort food, have a good craft beer experience, just a gathering place and a watering hole for the neighbourhood," said Sabine at a press event.

"In coming to Main Street, that was our goal as well."

Boasting a sleek design consistent with Blueprint's other locations and an equally appealing list of weekly events including live music and trivia night, Sabine and the team at Colony are anticipating a loyal customer base.

With menu items like maple glazed pork belly sliders, stadium fries, and the popular bbq onion ring burger, Colony's kitchen promises to please foodies as well.

In keeping with Mount Pleasant's approach to craft beer, Colony will be offering 18 different beers on rotating taps, and with $4.00 specials everyday of the week, this new addition to the area is sure to attract a diverse crowd.

It's not a bar. They don't make bars anymore. It's a restaurant with extra beer. And TV's.

They shouldn't be allowed to have the word "bar" in their name.
