There's more generational change in the senior ranks of Vancouver city staff.

Today, city manager Sadhu Johnston announced that effective August 1, Kaye Matheny Krishna will become general manager of development services, buildings and licensing.

She is a former chief of staff and deputy commissioner for strategy and operations with New York City's department of housing preservation. She also helped draft New York's 10-year housing marketplace plan.

Matheny Krishna most recently been with HR&A Advisors where, according to a city news release, she was "the strategy partner for the 100 Resilient Cities program".

In 2014 she was included in Urban Land's 40 Under 40 group, which recognizes high achievers in the planning profession.

In March, Vancouver city council appointed Johnston as city manager. A month later, Paul Mochrie was promoted to deputy city manager. Mochrie was formerly the general manager of human resources, digital strategy, and information technology.
