Last month, this column reported that Vancouver Sweet Basil Singers' Festival artistic director Michel Pan had announced his decision to step down as head of the Basil & Thyme Jazz Society, and that the organization was looking for a new event director. That position is still open, and Pan has sent the Straight some details of exactly who the society is looking for: namely, an individual who can make a long-term commitment to stage all future Sweet Basil presentations on a volunteer basis.
