I Try..

Constantly to be a positive and cheery person and tell you that "it's okay!" when you let me down. For the past several months, its happened more often than not and I'm so hurt and tired from it, from you. It's not your fault. I just find it to be extremely disrespectful, inconsiderate, selfish and rude when it happens. On the bright side, I know for certain now, that when it comes to things that really matter, I have no one to depend on except for myself. And, sometimes, I'm scared.

Listen to yourself!

If you are finding someone to be extremely disrespectful, inconsiderate, selfish and rude, for months, well...

They are disrespectful, inconsiderate, selfish and rude!

It IS THEIR FAULT. Or if you live in no-fault world, I bow to your superior morality, so let us not say fault but simply use our powers of reason.

If doing X (forgiving your friend) leads to result Y (painful), over a period of significant sample size (several months), should you continue to do X?

You know what to do here. Do it gently, but save yourself.

... that very few people are selfless and considerate enough to be counted on, always. Most people, most of the time, are selfish and inconsiderate. It's a default mode most people seem programmed to fall into.

Life improves dramatically when you rely only on yourself and those you KNOW you can count on! Don't be scared - embrace it.

stop being cheery and saying, it's ok. You don't have to be mean, but could still be honest and express disappointment.
