There's a new option to get Down Under faster.

Air Canada is launching new nonstop flights from Vancouver to Brisbane, Australia, starting in June 2016.

According to an Air Canada news release, flights to Brisbane will initially operate three times weekly with the intention to increase to daily service pending government approval.

The flights will operate year-round and are currently the only nonstop flights between Canada and Brisbane.

The capital of Queensland, Brisbane is the third most populous city in Australia and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Australia's Gold Coast.

Tickets for this route will be available for purchase starting July 16, 2015. Flights begin June 17, 2016, operating three times weekly on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

Air Canada currently also operates year-round, daily nonstop flights from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia.
