South Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale is the wealthiest and whitest riding in Surrey by far. The area has been held by Conservative, Canadian Alliance, and Reform members for as long as most residents have been alive.

The current MP, Russ Hiebert, is a socially conservative lawyer who was elected in 2004 after he defeated the incumbent MP, Val Meredith, for a nomination.

Langara College instructor and peace activist Peter Prontzos is running for the NDP. Veteran Surrey city councillor Judy Higginbotham is running for the Liberals again, having lost to Hiebert in 2004.
