Faced with news that the program she’s going to take at the prestigious Inside Passage School of Fine Woodworking isn’t eligible for student aid, artist Meredith Walker decided to throw a party. Called the Passion Pit, it includes DJs, a silent auction, and live painting at the Raw Canvas Lounge this Saturday night (August 8), with partial proceeds going to her tuition for September (and the rest to the artists). The artworks on the block are noteworthy, from the funky 7 Teddymares by Jenn Brisson (shown here) to Heather Faulkner jewellery and David Levine’s early ’70s prints. Tix are $10 at the door.
