Step on up

Want to get a fantastic workout in about 10 minutes? That’s the average time it takes for people to boot it up all 739 steps of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel during Climb the Wall: the Stairclimb for Clean Air. A fundraiser for the British Columbia Lung Association, the event takes place February 18. Participants eager to make it up the 48 storeys can enter in the competitive or noncompetitive category, and everyone gets treated to a professionally led warm-up and a full-on brunch afterward. Each climber has to raise a minimum of $100; funds go toward lung-health research. And don’t worry, you receive a start time in advance, so you won’t get crushed in the stairwell.
