From November 30 to December 2, Early Music Vancouver presents Handel's Messiah at two Metro Vancouver venues.

Music director Alexander Weimann will lead the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, the Vancouver Cantata Singers, soprano Yulia Van Doren, mezzo soprano Krisztina Szabó, tenor Charles Daniels, and baritone Tyler Duncan in performances of Handel's best-known work.

The English-language oratorio was composed in 1741 and features a scriptural text compiled by Charles Jennens from the King James Bible. The work is divided into three acts, each comprised of several scenes, which distribute storytelling equally between soloists, chorus, and orchestra.

The November 30 concert is scheduled to take place at the White Rock Baptist Church (1657 140 Street, Surrey), while the December 1 and 2 will happen at the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton Street). All concerts will start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Handel's Messiah are available online.
