Charlie's Little Italian closes in Vancouver's Mount Pleasant after 12 years

      Alas, Vancouver has said arrivederci to another Italian restaurant.

      After a 12-year run, Charlie's Little Italian restaurant permanently closed its doors at 2610 Main Street (at East 10th Avenue).

      It originally began as Habit Lounge before becoming Charlie's in 2013.

      The menu focused on modern takes on rustic Italian cooking, covering pizza, pasta, and entrées such as chicken parmigiana, pan-seared duck breast with ravioli, and vegan terrine.

      The restaurant's last dinner service was on August 6.

      The eatery was run by the Cascade Company, which also operates the Cascade Room, El Camino's, and the Union.

      In other recent local Italian restaurant news, Francesco's Ristorante Italia closed 860 Burrard Street on June 25.
