Kids and kids-at-heart will be excited to learn that this year's Fair at the PNE will include two new larger-than-life exhibitions.

Dinosaurs Alive! A Jurassic Experience will give attendees a look at fourteen different dinosaur species. The exhibit features eight life-sized animatronic models and six static models which are created to be one tenth of the animals' actual size. The exhibition includes valuable information about the lifestyles and locations of certain dinosaurs, based on the most recent reserach and discoveries made by paleontologists.

"We're always learning new things about dinosaurs... We're really fortunate to work with a great group of paleontology advisors. Our experiences are fun and they're entertaining and really dynamic, but they're also built on scientific accuracy," said Nancy Brenner, managing director and Dinosaurs Unearthed, a Richmond-based exhibition company, of the exhibit at a press conference earlier today.

The Superhero Discovery Centre Hall of Heroes Exhibit will allow fairgoers to discover what their secret powers might be by playing interactive games while they wander through models and collectibles from their favourite comic book and superhero movies. They can also sit in the driver's seat of a replica 1966 Batmobile  for a photo-op. This is the exhibit's first Canadian stop.

"What we wanted to do in this exhibition was really analyze heroes and they're abilities, and make it very hands-on," said curator Troy Carlson to the Straight. "There's a real blending of fictional heroes and real life heroes so people can get perspective of what we see in the movies or in comic books, and what people are really doing."
