Accident on Mount Seymour claims life of 12-year-old skier

      A tragedy occurred on the North Shore mountains last night, claiming the life of a youngster.

      North Vancouver RCMP announced today (April 11) that around police received a call to assist B.C. Emergency Health Services around 8 p.m. on April 10.

      A 12-year-old skier had been reported as being seriously injured in a skiing accident on Mount Seymour. CBC News reported that the child collided with a tree.

      Paramedics transported the child to B.C. Children’s Hospital, where the individual was pronounced deceased.

      B.C. Coroners Service is conducting an investigation. No further details have been released.
